Health Benefits of Turmeric

Turmeric, also known  as curcumin is a spice which is used in many ways. In India, Turmeric has been used for healing wounds and injuries and these medicinal  properties have been used all over Asia for the past 2500 years.

Turmeric has so many health benefits that I will be giving a list of the most known and useful.

1. It is a very good antiseptic and antibacterial agent, it can be used in healing cuts and burns.

2. It's very good for treating acne. Turmeric can be used as a face pack, powdered and mixed with some water and gram flour (besan). Make a paste of it and apply this on the face. Leave it till it is dry and rinse it off with luke warm water. Do this twice a week.

3. It is also known as a home remedy for cold. Mix one teaspoon of turmeric powder with a glass of warm milk can help get rid of colds.

4. As it helps acne, turmeric is also a great blood purifier. Having a glass of water with a teaspoon of turmeric can be really helpful for the blood vessels.

Contraindications: Turmeric should not be used by people with gallstones or bile obstruction. Though turmeric is often used by pregnant women, it is important to consult with a doctor before doing so as turmeric can be a uterine stimulant.


How to fight the cold weather?

Winter is for the most beautiful season with the ice and snow. But at the same, it is the most exhausting as the temperatures are very low and days are shorter. During winter, you need to adopt a proper lifestyle to surmount this cold.

Eating well :
During winter, our body needs to deal with cold by keeping us warm. In order to keep to do that, it is necessary to add some specific nutrient to our daily routine to fight the cold weather.
These super-foods will help to protect yourself from cold this winter.

Green tea and chamomile tea 
Green tea is known to be a powerful antioxidant and has strong antiviral and antibacterial properties. Drinking green tea about three to five cups a day can really keep your immune system strong against colds and flu during winter.

Soups

Soups are known for being the best meal during winter. A nice soup will keep you warm all day long and provide you with all the goodness from the vegetables. It is a good way to get a proper intake of vitamins and other nutrients.



Honey 

Honey is known for its antibacterial properties that help fight bacteria and virus. You can have honey every night before going to bed, or mix it in a cup of warm milk for added advantage.
